Students at Marshfield High School write and publish the school news magazine, The Marshfield Times. It is a part of our Fine/Applied Art Electives offered to students. While in this course students are involved in all aspects of publishing: research, interviews, news writing, features and editorials, advertising sales, design layout, and photography.
This is primarily a student-run class, and students should be self-motivated and willing to put in minimal time outside of normal school hours for related activities.
When taken during the senior year, this course can fulfill an English requirement, typically awarded to staff members who have been on the staff for prior years before senior year.
Students who successfully meet requirements may earn Clackamas Community College credit in addition to MHS elective credit.
