Attention volleyball players: For any girl that is interested in playing volleyball next fall, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, April 21st at lunch in Mrs. Montiel’s room, Pirate Hall room 609. There will be information provided about upcoming and summer open gyms, scrimmage dates, camps and tryouts. If you plan to play volleyball next year, you need to be at the meeting. Please see Mrs. Montiel for more information.

PROM IS COMING UP MAY 2nd from 8:30pm-11:00pm This year it is being held at Bristol Event Center in downtown Coos Bay. Parking is available in the Banner Bank parking lot. MANDATORY – TICKET PRE-PURCHASE ALL tickets MUST be purchased in advance. NO exceptions. Due to limited occupancy, tickets will be sold at lunch in the Main Hall April 22 until April 30 unless they sell out early. Cash or Check only $30/per person. NO tickets will be sold at the door. Students and guests without a pre-purchased ticket will be denied entry.
REQUIREMENTS (READ CAREFULLY)
• Guest must be in high school or 20 years old or younger
• MHS student and guest must arrive together and remain together upon entry
• This form must be fully completed, signed, and approved BEFORE a ticket is purchased
• Deadline: April 28 at 3:30 PM – NO late forms accepted
• Recent MHS graduates may request MHS administrator approval
• Destinations and MHS Online students do not need a guest pass for themselves
STRICT ENFORCEMENT
• Students are subject to Breathalyzer testing if requested
• Any rule violation = immediate removal of BOTH student and guest
• NO refunds under any circumstances
• No re-entry once admitted to the dance

Marshfield is holding its annual Poetry Slam on April 30! It will start at 6 PM in the auditorium. Any student who writes their own, unique poem can perform at the Poetry Slam. Sign up any time in the library. Poems are due by Monday, April 27 in order to participate. There will be prize baskets for each of the top 3 places plus one special prize for a Marshfield Pioneer cemetery themed poem. See the library or an English teacher for the guidelines and more information.

Senior Announcement: All textbooks, Chromebooks, and chargers must be turned into the library by 3:00 PM on June 3rd. Any items not returned by that time will have the replacement cost added to your fees in the main office.
If you have outstanding fees from previous years, they must be paid in the main office or through MySchoolBucks.com. Please do not wait until the last minute.
Diplomas will be withheld for students who have not fulfilled their financial obligations.

Diavik Nielsen Memorial Scholarship — Applications due May 1 Seniors: The Diavik Nielsen Memorial Scholarship honors the life, character, and legacy of Diavik Nielsen—remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, resilience, and desire to help others. This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors who demonstrate compassion, determination, and creativity similar to Diavik’s. He loved time with friends and family, exploring the outdoors, sports, and hands-on building and creating. Details
• Number awarded: Two scholarships
• Eligible: Graduating seniors planning to attend college, a trade/technical school, or enter the military
• Selection: Recipients chosen by Diavik’s family in partnership with the school
• How to apply: Complete the application via the Google Form (link below)
• Deadline: May 1 (applications submitted after this date will not be considered)
• Award presentation: Recipients announced and awarded at Graduation Practice on June 5, 2026

• Essay responses must be at least 150 words.
